Demalo Black is a minor antagonist featured in the One Piece manga and anime series. He is an imposter who briefly attempts to capitalize on the notoriety of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates following their two-year separation.

During the Straw Hat crew's absence, Demalo Black assembled a crew and publicly impersonated Luffy, falsely claiming to be the captain of the "New Straw Hat Pirates." He aimed to intimidate and exploit vulnerable islands, extorting resources and establishing a false reputation based on the original crew's prior exploits. He relies heavily on his crew to carry out his commands and present him as the "strong" leader he is not.

His charade is swiftly exposed upon the genuine Straw Hats' reunion. His crew's loyalty is weak, as demonstrated by their easy surrender when confronted by the real Straw Hat Pirates. Ultimately, his scheme fails, and his brief reign of terror is brought to an end, highlighting the power and authenticity of the genuine Straw Hat crew.
